Project Description:

In February 2022, we completed the design and construction of a food court complex, and bar located in the bustling area of Canary Wharf, London. This 14,000-square-foot hospitality space was developed in collaboration with Market Halls, a renowned operator of food halls across London. The venue features a diverse selection of 11 food traders and 3 bars, offering patrons a variety of dining and beverage options.

Key Aspects of the Project:

  1. MEP Design and Build: Our team provided comprehensive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services, ensuring that all installations met the specific requirements of each food trader and bar. This included designing efficient ventilation systems to handle diverse cooking processes, implementing robust electrical infrastructures to support various kitchen equipment, and installing reliable plumbing systems for food preparation and sanitation needs.
  2. Collaborative Planning: Working closely with Market Halls and MGL Projects, we ensured that the design and construction phases aligned with the overall vision for the food court. This collaborative approach facilitated the seamless integration of MEP systems with the architectural and interior design elements, resulting in a cohesive and functional space.
  3. Adherence to Regulations: Given the high footfall anticipated in this prime location, all MEP installations were designed and executed in compliance with the latest health and safety regulations, as well as industry standards. This ensured a safe environment for both patrons and staff.
  4. Sustainable Practices: In line with contemporary construction practices, we incorporated energy-efficient systems and sustainable materials where possible. This not only reduced the environmental impact of the project but also provided long-term operational cost savings for the client.

Outcome:

The successful completion of this project resulted in a vibrant food court that has become a popular destination for both local residents and visitors to Canary Wharf. The variety of food offerings and the inviting ambiance have contributed to the venue’s popularity, enhancing the culinary landscape of the area. This project underscores our capability to deliver complex MEP design and build services within tight timelines, meeting the high standards expected in one of London’s most dynamic districts.
