Project Description:
In October 2024, we successfully completed a fast-paced project to transform an 800-square-metre former gym into a vibrant bar, restaurant, and pΓ©tanque club for BouleBar. The project was executed within an ambitious eight-week timeframe, including the initial strip-out phase.β
Key Challenges and Solutions:
- Asphalt Installation in the Basement: One of the most demanding aspects of the project was laying 50 tonnes of asphalt in the basement to create the pΓ©tanque lanes. Due to access limitations, the asphalt had to be transported manually using wheelbarrows via the service lift. This labour-intensive process required meticulous planning and coordination to ensure timely completion.β
- On-Site Bespoke Joinery Workshop: To meet the tight schedule, we established an on-site workshop dedicated to bespoke joinery. This approach allowed for real-time adjustments and seamless integration of custom elements, such as the two fully equipped bars and other unique fixtures, ensuring alignment with the overall design aesthetic.β
- HVAC Modifications: Adapting the existing HVAC systems to suit the new layout and purpose of the space was crucial for maintaining optimal ventilation and comfort. We conducted a thorough assessment and implemented necessary modifications, including the relocation of air conditioning units, to achieve an efficient and effective climate control system.β
- MEP Installations: Comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations were carried out to support the operational needs of the bar, restaurant, and pΓ©tanque club. This encompassed new electrical wiring, plumbing for the kitchen and toilet facilities, and integration of specialised lighting and sound systems to enhance the ambiance.β
Outcome:
The project culminated in a successful transformation of the space, celebrated with a grand opening party where guests had the opportunity to enjoy the newly constructed pΓ©tanque lanes. The venue now offers a unique blend of dining, socialising, and gaming experiences, contributing to the growing trend of competitive socialising in the UK. This aligns with the increasing popularity of venues that combine traditional hospitality with interactive activities, attracting diverse clientele seeking multifaceted entertainment options. β
